Graphic Vocabulary
Amir El Harbe - Year 2 BA Architecture
How does Graphic Vocabulary differ from other architectural approaches?

It uses an indirect method of teaching to not look at architecture as physical objects, but as a form of digital space that can be manipulated with various elements such as Dots, Lines, Surfaces and Text. Combined with compositions of Time, Thickness, Movement, Spacing, Light, Material, Scale and Structure.

My work and studies intend to understand how the composition of Graphic Vocabulary can manipulate design from every detail and angle. While breaking the boundary of symmetrical aligning systems to reach the threshold of abstract design and its meaning. This is achievable through varied geometry, structure,
comparison, pattern and many other elements.

I will aim to filter the complexity this system incorporates compared to other architectural approaches with clear explanations and reason while maintaining the effectiveness of Graphical Vocabulary. As the discipline creates a hierarchy of less is more, more is less intertwined with simple and complex forms, in respect.
